Limelight, the ABC's music/arts/entertainment monthly magazine, asked me to list my five favourite websites for the current issue. Naturally, I was happy to oblige.
Although I tried really hard not to sound too geeky, it's difficult with this list:
For the mind: Talking Squid
For the heart: xkcd
For inspiration: The Astronomy Picture of the Day
For research: Wikipedia/Wookieepedia
For the soul: eMusic
There are so many great sites out there. Some of them (like Boing Boing) don't need any help, but it was still a very difficult choice.
Here are a couple more that didn't make it because the space was tight and wordage extraordinarily short:
For fun: The Unfeasible Adventures of Beaver & Steve
For high-class snarkery: Smart Bitches Who Love Trashy Books
For the kittehs: I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER?
