Today I received copies of the French edition of The Resurrected Man, aka Reconstitué. Hurrah!

Here's the cover art by Miguel Coimbra:

(You can see the layout, if you're interested, on the novel's official site at the link above.)

It's published by the most excellent éditions Bragelonne, who have been nothing but wonderful to me, and if you can read French there's an excerpt here.

This calls for champagne!

Congratulations

Merci!

I am a sucker for French champagne. The local fizz is pretty good, but once you get a taste for the real stuff, you're hooked for life.

I've only had Krug, once, courtesy of a friend who was given a bottle and wanted to share it. Oh, yes, that's what champagne is meant to be, and I thought the same when I had my first glass of Moet & Chandon. I realised that I like my champagnes dry. The last time we have M&C (The budget didn't stretch to Krug unfortunately) was on our wedding anniversy when we went back to where we got married at the time we got married, and toasted each other.

That's just gorgeous. Are you gonna be the Jerry Lewis of SF? Or was that Norman Spinrad?

Me too. I raise a glass of water in your general direction.

Why water? I'm at work.

I love it! I wonder if they'd let me build an extension like that in Darkside...

Hee hee. I'd love to be the Norman Spinrad of SF if only because that begs the question: what was Norman Spinrad of, if not SF?

Maybe Jerry Lee Lewis is the best I could hope for...

The legendary Lou Anders has blogged the cover here (http://pyrsf.blogspot.com/2007/10/sean-williams-reconstitu.html) and Babelfished the blurb in the process.

"In a future where the border between the human one and the machine are done increasingly fuzzy, the reconstituted man explores the future of terrorism, of the world conspiracy and maintenance of law and order. Perfect mixture of thriller and science fiction Cyberpunk..."

Not bad at all.
