"Silence in the Library"
Jun. 2nd, 2008 10:30 amNo spoilers, I promise. Just wanted to say that Steven Moffatt managed to fit more ideas, world-building, character development, plot, and genuine scares into half a story than the rest of this season of Doctor Who combined. He has such a skill for teasing iconic images--zombie kids with gas-mask faces, murderous statues, and now shadows--out of clever SFnal ideas, thereby pleasing both sides of my brain while blowing it at the same time. I'm sure those qualities will bleed into the show as a whole, once he's producer. The sooner he takes over, the better.
Imho, of course.
Imho, of course.

Date: 2008-06-02 02:29 am (UTC)At the very least, you'll appreciate the jump from formulaic, half-baked stories to something with a little substance.
Moffatt might even be laying the foundations for 2010 already, in which case I am more excited still.

For a non-Whovian it wasn't bad at all, especially given the fare this season.
Personally I'm in Dexter mode, to hopefully be followed by Pushing Daisies (which when written is kinda scary sequencing *lol*).
