I'm off on honeymoon* for a while, and it is with some relief that I note, courtesy of these cool flood maps**, that my new home on the Dark Side will stay high and dry should the oceans rise up to swamp Adelaide while I'm gone



People wanting to flee the submerged suburbs in a hurry will be disappointed, because our new(ish) airport terminal is certain to be thoroughly drowned.

Luckily for all, however, the Haigh's factory is also in Parkside, so it too will survive. We'll still need chocolate no matter how wet the world gets.

* Apologies in advance for being tardy with email etc until I get back.

** I know these maps aren't entirely accurate, but foretelling doomsday is always fun!

Yes, Haigh's is just down the road. It is a blessing and a curse. :-)

To prove that I am working on book two, here's the first sentence:

Gosh, lots more mystery out of that sentence!
I have put book 1 on the shelf, and probably should have written down some comments as I went - stuff about identity, time scales, and indeed mysteries - some of which got resolved by the end I guess, but lots more yet to be revealed! I guess a few of the revelations, partly from what hadn't been talked about explicitly, but you're pretty sneaky, Mr Author ;)

Re the beachside view: that's a definite upside! My old granny-flat to the west of the city (where I lived nine years while first starting to write, and where Shane Dix now resides) would be prime real estate in the case of such a flood. It's hard to imagine...
