Funnily enough, I'm currently just over halfway through SATURN RETURNS and the next book on my list is MAZE OF DEATH which I've been meaning to read for ages. Actually this years PKD list is unusual in that there are several books on it I've actually read (GREY), am reading (SATURN RETURNS) or have in my "to read" pile (NOVA SWING). Maybe I'll read MoD later...

Chundering Up North

Darwin. I spent several months in Darwin in the early 80s, I stayed for some of the time in a hostel with communal bathrooms and rooms with paper thin walls. After about six weeks a colleague came up from Sydney to join me in swatting the bytes and we had dinner (and considerable quantities of NT Draught) at the Hotel Darwin. I must have eaten a bad oyster 'cause no alcohol ever made me feel that ill. My memories of the wedding of Chuck and Di will always be of hearing it through the aforementioned paper thin walls from the TV in the room next door, while I chundered my heart up in the sink in my room. Over and over again. For hours, and more hours; until death seemed like the best thing that could happen to me. I shudder to think what the poor bugger watching it on his TV remembers...
