remix my lit (via LAX)
Aug. 6th, 2008 03:03 pmHey, Devo ROCKED. Seriously. "Smart Patrol" makes sense to me now I've seen it live. The only downer was heading home to bed rather than following the spuds from Ohio to the pub, where all manner of merriment may have ensued. Or not. Curse those early morning flights!
(...especially when they're cancelled, and your whole itinerary is binned, resulting in several hours to kill in LA, wondering if the ringing in your ears could possibly still be from the concert.)
Anyway, Remix My Lit must be the most provocatively named literary exercise ever. It's a cool one, too. Stories are posted; people can tinker with them any way they desire; the results are posted in turn, leading to yet more literary excitement.
I recently spent a fun couple of days tinkering with Kim Wilkins's spooky story "Dreamless", turning it into not one but two villanelles. Not haiku. Follow this link to see the result.

9:45am. Tomorrow. Front of the Grand Hyatt. Which is where we Steves stay when we stay in Denver.

Date: 2008-08-11 03:45 am (UTC)I just wanted to say again that it was a great pleasure, and I'm sorry that we didn't cross paths again after Saturday afternoon. You were a good part of the ABSOLUTELY FAN FUCKING TASTIC time that Hot Trouble-Making Steve and I had in Denver, and we look forward to seeing you again sometime soon.
You rock, dude.

Date: 2008-08-12 03:54 pm (UTC)It sure was a fantastic trip, made all the better by getting to hang out with you and Diana. Come to Melbourne in 2010! We don't have anything as techno-cool as NORAD to offer, but we've got kangaroos and stuff. And you can eat 'em, too. :-)
