Another top ten listing, and this time it's huge!

Barnes & Noble has put The Crooked Letter at number four on its Explorations Newsletter's Editor's Choice of 2006, alongside John Scalzi, Rudy Rucker, and many other excellent authors. Hurrah!

Wonderful to see so many other Pyr titles in these lists, too. On this one, in fact, Pyr gets the #1 spot. Lou Anders once again confirms the rumour that he is a legend.

The legendary John Scalzi popped the questions this time, and I'm very grateful to him for doing so.

Then Lou Anders linked to it under the headline "Love-Stricken & Agoraphobic", which isn't a bad summation of my life in recent times. :-)

I put a smiley face there to indicate that I'm not unhappy in either state, which is lucky because the coming months are likely to make me more of the same, not less.

I'm out of the office for a week or so, and to be honest, I'll miss it. Sometimes people wonder how I cope with working from home most of the time. My response is simple: I bloody love it. No commuting, fully-stocked kitchen, couch for afternoon naps. What could be better?

Perhaps this: the steampunk laptop and concrete monitor.

(Update: and this clock.)

Somewhere out there is a chair to match. I just know it.
