Germany crumbles
Sep. 6th, 2005 07:58 amThanks to the sterling efforts of Danny Baror and Richard Curtis (inspired in no small part, I'm sure, by Pyr and Lou Anders' fine resurrection work of their own) The Resurrected Man has sold in Germany to Heyne Verlag. Date and format presently unknown, but I'm celebrating anyway. Hurrah!

Date: 2005-09-06 11:44 am (UTC)Actually, I'm really very pleased by this, as (a) it's my first sale to Western Europe (not counting the UK) and (2) I'm apparently a descendant of the great German writer, Friedrich von Schiller, and because of that I know my grandfather would be very proud.
When I put "The Resurrected Man" into an online translator, btw, I received "Der Wieder Belebte Mann", which strikes me as somewhat disappointing...

Now *there's* your t-shirt motto!

The neologism contra-mesmerising springs immediately to mind. :-)
