Thanks to the sterling efforts of Danny Baror and Richard Curtis (inspired in no small part, I'm sure, by Pyr and Lou Anders' fine resurrection work of their own) The Resurrected Man has sold in Germany to Heyne Verlag. Date and format presently unknown, but I'm celebrating anyway. Hurrah!

Just don't mention the war...

Actually, I'm really very pleased by this, as (a) it's my first sale to Western Europe (not counting the UK) and (2) I'm apparently a descendant of the great German writer, Friedrich von Schiller, and because of that I know my grandfather would be very proud.

When I put "The Resurrected Man" into an online translator, btw, I received "Der Wieder Belebte Mann", which strikes me as somewhat disappointing...

May I refer to you as 'My Little Wieder Belebte'?

Feel free, as long as you don't mind me saying "schletches Deb, ich nicht sogar finde den zu interessieren" in response. :-)

*LOL*! I'm not sure which is funnier, what you've just tried to say to me, or what babelfish has translated it into:

"In English: schletches Deb, I not even finds to interest"

Now *there's* your t-shirt motto!

There's *a* t-shirt motto. The possibilities are endless! In particular, I quite like:

"Deb pobre, eu não o encontro mesmo interessar."

The neologism contra-mesmerising springs immediately to mind. :-)

Thanks! Babel fish translates that last bit as "the cock is tott", which I think is completely brilliant. :-)

Well...it's actually "the rooster is dead", which is the first song of this awesome little ditty they taught us in first year German, which apparently celebrates a rooster finally karking it.
