Every morning I wake up with a song in my head. Today it's "Domino Dancing" by the Pet Shop Boys, which I haven't heard for at least ten years. Beats me why. Sometimes the mind plays tricks...

Anyway, I'm off to start my stint at the Sydney Writer's Festival. As well as badgering students about the 10.5 Commandments, I'll be giving a couple of talks on the main program:

Sean Williams in a galaxy far, far away
Wednesday, 6.00
Sydney Observatory
(comes with a free viewing--form a line behind me!)

Crossing over
Thursday, 3.00
YA vs adult fiction with Matt Reilly and Margo Lanagan.

If you're in the area, come along. It'd be great to see a friendly face. :-)

Sounds cool! I'll gladly bring a CD along...
Oh btw if you're in the city and visiting Kinokuniya, there's a small but great Woodring exhibition on there. Nice. Turns out he's a really lovely guy, and very entertaining in his presentations. Did a wonderful spoken piece called "Lazy Robinson" to a series of extraordinary drawings, which was mind-expanding and humourous in equal amounts.

I've been enjoying Lou's anthologies for quite some time, and actually wrote to him back when he was editing Argosy and Live Without A Net came out. LWAN was my introduction to the estimable Chris Roberson as well, and his Celestial Empire stuff is still my fave area of his work.

See you soon! Have fun in town. If you're near a radio tonight, my show Utility Fog goes from 10pm-1am on FBi 94.5FM...

Do they have radios in hotels any more? I'll have a look in the TV and see what I can find.

Lou is a dude, and so is Chris. I'm really proud to be wandering about in their orbits.

I guess if you have broadband in the room you can listen online (http://www.frogworth.com/utilityfog/) (oh, that'll take you to my playlists page but there's a link there). Might be even more inconvenient than locating a radio though ;) Sometimes there's one near the bed or something?
