Every morning I wake up with a song in my head. Today it's "Domino Dancing" by the Pet Shop Boys, which I haven't heard for at least ten years. Beats me why. Sometimes the mind plays tricks...

Anyway, I'm off to start my stint at the Sydney Writer's Festival. As well as badgering students about the 10.5 Commandments, I'll be giving a couple of talks on the main program:

I didn't realise it was a youth-oriented thing until tonight. Eek. Hopefully the speech I've written won't bore the little blighters to tears...

Tears being the operative word... Anyway, hopefully I'm not the only adult fan who can't make 3pm on a Thursday (which is a shame as I'd really love to see Margo too!), so we'll be appreciative. 90% sure we can make it...

See what happens when you write a Star Wars book! You are forever after labeled as a children's/YA author by the mainstream literary gestapo. I'm in the same boat as others re this event - no sprogs to bring along - so I'll probably see you at Crossing Over instead.
